I saw this ad in Newsweek a couple of weeks ago. Given all the uncertainty surrounding the insurance industry in the US, I suppose more conservative Ogilvy style copy might be just what Geicho needs to convey security.

I find something really interesting in this ad, aside from the "rest assured" Ogilvy nature of the copy.
Berkshire Hathaway has owned GEICO since 1996 yet that's the first time I've ever seen it mentioned. I've seen a lot of GEICO ads over the years but I don't think I ever noticed "A Subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc." under their name before. I guess they never needed to instill confidence in their reputation into people before. I find that interesting...
