While looking at the cover of PDN (Photo District News), I noticed that the entire front cover is an advertisement for the new Canon EOS 50D digital slr. Even though I am a total camera nerd, I don't like the idea of using the cover of a magazine for an ad. It seems to undermine the credibility of the magazine. Thoughts?

I'm gonna agree with Mark on this one. Putting a Canon ad on the cover like that is essentially endorsing Canon over all other camera brands. And if next month's cover features a Nikon product what will that say about the magazine? That they're just pandering to the highest bidder for the money? Where's the credibility in that? This is the kind of thing you expect from the Winnipeg Sun, not from a respected photography publication.

I agree. And most of the time it fucks up the binding.
